Festive Make Up

I thought I would share with you the make up I will be wearing on Christmas Day! I am so excited for this Christmas. My parents are coming here this year and it’ll be the first time we have spent the WHOLE day at home. Which will be amazing as won’t have to drag all of Jakes presents out. Woohoo.

Christmas Day starts off with me staying in my Christmas pjs and opening presents with my boys and family, we then go get ready for the day before breakfast. I always like to wear a Christmas jumper or a nice dress so it’s only normal I want my face to look semi human in case of photos etc.

Although it’s not over the top it’s more than normal for me…

The Ordinary Coverage foundation. I love this foundation so much. It covers what I need it to and doesn’t feel heavy or cakey. Healthy mix by Bourjois concealer on my bags and spots… and blend that in with my RT buffing brush.

As standard my Nars Laguna goes on my cheek bones and temples and under my chin.. and some Benetint on my cheekbones and lips. You know.. for that healthy look haha.

I have been loving this Ardell Brow Promade in Blonde. It’s so super to use and a perfect shade for me. I will be using my Urban Decay Naked palette this year… with Naked and Buck in the crease with Half Baked on my lid and lower lash line. With L’Oreal babydoll mascara…. seriously still obsessed with this mascara.

To finish my face off I will be using the Benefit Benebalm, it’s such a perfect colour and not over the top for me. I am not brave enough for a full on red lip so this balm is perfect for me! Festive but still in my comfort zone!

Once all done I will spritz my face with the Urban Decay setting spray (which is incredible FYI)

My Favourite Christmas Jumpers

I did share some of my Christmas jumpers last year but these are this years favourites… yes some same as last year but whatevs…. I love a Christmas jumper and if I’m honest I would wear one all year round, or perhaps a Christmas dress in summer because it’s hot but you get the idea… I love them.

Anywho here they are….

Some of these I’ve had for year and some are new additions!! My favourite has to be the Avocado one which is from H&M, I have loved avocados forever… even before they were “cool” shocking huh?

I would love to have some more Christmas jumpers, where is your favourite place to buy them? XO

My Festive Nails

When it comes to nails I like to go with the season so Spring is light pinks and corals, Summer is all about bright colours, especially pinks! Autumn and Winter are all about Berry and red shades. However, now it is December I feel it is only appropriate to crack out the glitter. Now a little disclaimer I will wear glitter all year round but right now… it’s ok to step the glitter game up which is why I went for a red glitter.

I prepped my nails and I decided to file them down. Start fresh and grow them. As I do other people’s nails as my job now, my nails tend to get a beating which is why I like to use Gel on my nails now. So much harder wearing and lasts so well.

I went for this shade call Morchino Cherry which is a lovely dark ish red. I then popped on top this red glitter called Meteor.. now isn’t this beautiful?? I’ve been obsessed since I bought it and been dying to use it. I love my gold and silver glitter but this red just screams “Santa come at me bitch!”

Once I did my nails I did cuticle oil and hand cream. I use these on my clients and always get asked what the hand cream is. It smells incredible!

Wish the red glitter showed more in the photo! It really is lush!

What are your go to festive nail favourites? XO

Winter Skincare Routine

No surprise I know but I love Skincare… I love it so much I would trade in my whole collection of make up for a skincare routine. My routine hasn’t changed that much but a few of the products I am using are more ideal for the colder months.

Shocking… but I have been using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (bet you weren’t expecting me to say that haha) this is just the ideal cleanser for all year round, morning and night. It removes make up like an absolute boss and also refreshes in the morning. I massage this into dry skin and remove with a hot damp face cloth. I have also been using the Soap and Glory Clarity cleanser again as my second cleanse and switching between this and C&P in the AM.. but a review on that soon.

For my acid toner I have been using the Nip and Fab Extreme pads, I use these in the morning and evening, I have noticed the texture of my skin improve so much since adding these. To hydrate my skin after the acid, the Hungarian mist by Omorovicza has been incredible, it smells amazing but most importantly it hydrates my skin amazingly, the bottle though is what I love. It’s a gorgeous mist instead of a massive squirt in the face.

It being colder I notice the skin around my eyes gets a lot drier so skipping an eye cream this time of year is definitely a no no, this one from Time Delay Boots is pretty great if I am honest, for £5 it is one to try. The little lines around my eyes are less noticeable too.. bonus!

In the mornings I use a serum and the Boots Time Delay one is so lovely, its not tacky or heavy. In the evenings though it is all about the oils, this one from Botanicals surprised me, it isn’t greasy like a normal oil, it is more like water but wow it hydrates and plumps the skin I really love the bottle too just really nice to use.

The final step is moisturiser and the Liz Earle moisturiser will forever be a firm favourite, it is more like a balm and a little goes a long way, perfect base for make up and keeps my skin hydrated all day. I pop on some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and I’m ready to rumble… or sleep… usually sleep.

I do a scrub once a week and been loving this Frank coffee scrub! It smells divine and makes my skin so smooth, especially if I use the Lavender Elemis afterwards.

The main skin care tip for this time of year though is drink loads, I preach this so much to clients and if I am honest I really struggle to listen to my own advice haha. But water really is the best thing you can do for your skin.

A Catch Up

Another catch up…. I haven’t posted since the 15th October, I have been doing so much! Went back to work for a couple of weeks, been doing nails and met some lovely ladies whilst doing that! Also we had an awesome half term!!! Did so much and really spent some quality time together as a family as James was off too.

Anxiety has been a bit pants and little Jake has been unwell with a chest infection. He is all good now though and hopefully getting somewhere with the doctors. They have been amazing with my little man though and couldn’t fault them.

I have also completed my lash and brow course, which is super exciting. I am planning to learn Indian head massage which I thought would be a nice extra to add to a facial. I am so lucky I have been able to leave my job to do what I really love doing and I am so grateful for that.

I seriously thought about doing Blogmas but I just don’t think I have the brain space haha. It being the 1st December and all ready for Christmas it’s now time to finish writing cards, wrapping presents, Christmas crafts, mince pies and Christmas films. So I will be publishing posts but not every day.

Hope you have all been well! What have you been up to?
