Autumn Make Up

Autumn Make Up

My favourite season is finally upon us and oh my… I get so excited! Christmas is getting SO close!

I like to wear more make up in Autumn and the no make up make up looks can take a step back! I have been loving The Ordinary Serum Foundation and a review will be up shortly, but now it is Autumn I like something a little heavier and I am in love with the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, it isnt mega heavy but it gives a nice coverage with the concealer. A perfect mix… pardon the pun haha.

Autumn to me is all about berry lips.. patted out obviously because, well, its me. Mac Rebel will always be a firm favourite. Been loving a few other lip choices too but Rebel is my go to Autumn shade. Rocketeur by Benefit is a staple for this time of year too! Along with Urban Decay Half Baked and Naked in the crease and lower lashline. Nars Laguna is always in my make up routine so no surprise there.

I think this is such a perfect simple Autumnal look, can be made heavier and can be made softer depending on my mood but golds and berries are the way forward for me, a bit like dresses, tights and ankle boots.

I prime every day and use a setting spray too but trying a few out so didnt want to include those.

What are your Autumn staples? XO

What’s in my MakeUp Bag

What’s in my MakeUp Bag

As seen in my make up storage I keep everything in my MUJI draws, as beautiful as they are and convenient when I can get ready in the bedroom sometimes it’s just a pain in the area when it comes to being in a rush. I recently switched to a make up bag. I’ve put in what I use on a daily basis and it’s easy to grab when I’m in a rush in the morning… I can now be doing Jake some toast whilst bopping on my foundation.

So let’s crack on… first up is my make up bag.. this is a Ted Baker bag with a pale pink bow.. the Pom Pom came from Superdrug. It’s spacious and wipe clean.

My Base… Real Techniques Complexion sponge.. this is a new purchase and a review will be up soon. L’Oreal True Match in Vanilla 2N this is an old favourite, light, blendable and excellent coverage. For concealer I have been using the Collection Lasting Perfection in 1 Fair. This is excellent coverage and doesn’t cling to dry patches.

For my bronzer I have been using my all time favourite which is the Nars Laguna bronzer, this goes on so nice and great for contouring. I use the Zoeva 127 it’s an excellent brush for bronzer as it picks up a nice amount of product.

Blusher is my favourite autumnal shade which is the Rockateur and I pop this on with the Real Techniques 300 brush. This is a very Luxe brush and it feels it when I use it!

My brows I have been using the Sleek Brow Kit in light. I have just been using the powder shade as it’s subtle and not too over the top and I apply this with the Zoeva 317 and blend it with the Benefit Tweezerman spoolie.

On my eyes it varies every day I sometimes don’t use anything, sometimes all of it. You get the drift. The easiest product to use is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in on and on bronze. It’s got great lasting power and works great as a base too. I have my two favourite Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Half Baked which is a gold and Naked which is a matte brown which is perfect for the crease. The brushes I have been using are MAC 219 to apply a bit of eyeshadow on the lower lashline. And the others are Zoeva 231 and 227. I like to blend everything with the Real Techniques 200. I don’t tend to use eyelash curlers everyday but I have the Emite ones which are good. I finish the eyes with the Lash Sensational in Brown for a day to day look.

Finally the lips… I tend to just use the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream but when I’m feeling a bit fancy I use one of these 4… MAC Creme Cup, MAC Rebel, Maybelline Honey Beige and my favourite at the moment the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. I am a bit late to the game with those haha.

I loved to know what’s in your make up bags so link your posts down below 🙂 xxx

Autumn Makeup Picks

Autumn Makeup Picks

Let’s face it this is the best time of year for make up isn’t it. I like Spring and all the corals and the golden goddess looks but gold looks so much better with a berry lip… not to mention it’s cooler so the make up doesn’t slide off your face by midday. You can pop on just a little more contour, matte foundation and don’t have to worry about matching your foundation to your fake tanned neck. It’s all about being pale and embracing layers… and eating as much food as possible to get festively plump haha.

So here are my top picks for autumn make up..

MAC Studio Fix Fluid – this is a full coverage foundation and doesn’t budge. I have this in 2 shades as I mix them if I’m not as pale as I thought. I like my Bourjois healthy mix but MAC just keeps pulling me back.

NARS Laguna Bronzer, as mentioned before this is my favourite bronzer ever, EVER! I use the Sleek face form kit for day to day for work but when I’m popping out with my boys for the day or for a meal this bronzer gets used. It’s just perfect! I am so glad my 30th birthday is soon… as I will be needing a new one of these by then.

Urban Decay Naked Palette – I had all 3 of the palettes but sold 2 and 3 as I only ever use this palette. It’s perfect, can create so many eye looks. Half Baked is my favourite and I have the individual one of it, as well as Sin and Naked. I love half baked in Autumn as it’s a perfect lid shade and lower lash line, bit of Buck through the crease and I’m ready to go.

I only ever usually wear lip balm every other month of the year but this is the time of year I like to wear a bit more on my lips and my favourite ever lipstick is MAC Rebel, I am a wimp when he comes to lipstick but I pat this on and it gives such a nice berry shade. Can also be built up to quite a dark colour!

Benefit Rocketeur Blusher, I love the Benefit Coralista and I think it’s the only reason I like Spring and Summer if I’m honest but as soon as it starts to get chillier Rocketuer comes out to play, it’s a perfect aumtunal shade, smells nice and gives a nice subtle highlight too.

NARS Black Eyeliner, I’m not usually one for eyeliner but in the colder months I tend to pop some eyeliner in my upper and lower water line. I think it just pulls the whole make up look together and give the lashes a fuller look.

What are your favourite Autumn make up picks? I want to know! X
